Ybone
Has anyone just painted the plywood floor of their fishhouse instead of carpeting it?
Luzbel
I have heard of this technique before but I have never been in a house with the floor painted. I am in the process of building a new fish house and I am planning to look into the paint floor instead of carpet.I just spill my beer so many times when I fish that I dont want to have an old beer smelling carpet. Lip_Ripper Guy
Seen it done a few times. Not a bad idea. I'd use a good epoxy paint, like you'd use on a garage floor.
fishkins
Seen it done a few times. Not a bad idea. I'd use a good epoxy paint, like you'd use on a garage floor. Paint stores sell a real fine sand to sprinkle on to keep it from being slippery, works for me.
Luzbel
fishkins, Do you have a picture of your fish house floor you can share?? Sounds like a very good idea to me.
hawkeye43
Sand blasting sand works great after paint before it dries. I over did it on the sand in mine.
Ron Vroom
I recommend a paint product called "Restore" sold in building supply stores used for restoring decks that can be tinted to any shade. It creates a textured non-skid water proof surface and is easy to apply with the roller supplied. I used it for 2 seasons in my converted Airstream and I was very satisfied with it, and it held up well. But now I have rubber interlocking 2' sq. fatigue tiles which are installed with double sided tape, which I much prefer. It is quiet, adds some insulation, and quickly dries out once the trailer is heated up. We are always in stocking feet or slippers once the heat is on.
