Marking Waypoints.

Recommended Posts

I know this may be a dumb question, and if buying a GPS is the only way then so be it, but I would really like a way to mark waypoints on my IPhone 4. Whether it be an app or part of the phone, I would like to be able to move to a certain spot and mark a waypoint without physically being in the location. I have found some potential hunting spots using google earth and would like to be able to find these spots easily later in the year. My apologies if there is a simple solution to this that I am just not seeing. Thanks for the help.

I've made waypoints/boundaries with Google Maps using a PC. After logging into your Google account (you'll need an account to save your work) go to Google Maps and then click on "My Places" and then "Create Map". You can then place waypoints and draw boundaries as well as name them and give them a description.

After saving your spots you should be able to pull them up via the browser on your phone after logging into Google Maps with your credentials. I would think it would work on an iPhone since it's all browser based.

There are probably apps out there that will do this too, but I didn't waste time looking for one and just wanted to make a few quick notes on Maps to highlight some hunting areas.
