Would a bad battery cause this unit to turn on by itself? I got to the landing Friday and the battery was dead, as soon as I hooked up jumper cables, I noticed the locator started booting up. I tried shutting it off and would get the screen saying "Powering Off" and as soon as the screen went black it would start booting up again. Took the battery out of the boat and had it tested and it tested bad. Now that there's a new battery in the boat, my locator no longer turns on by itself. I'm thinking the bad battery was causing the problem, is that possible?

I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage. Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout.
Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
