Ice House / RV

Recommended Posts

I have been researching the Ice Castle "All Season Traveler" 5th-Wheel RV.

Do any members own something similar?

Which other brands/models should I look into?

I'm considering one with a 5th Wheel frame and trailer hookup so I can also tow my boat behind it, occasionally.

Any feedback would be great!

I looked at a 5th wheel house before I bought my 5th wheel camper. The ice castles do not have much room in them when compared with an rv with slide outs. The bedroom has a very low ceiling height and there isn't much storage for camping supplies. At the time the Ice Castle rep did not recommend pulling my boat behind the fish house either.

what lakes will you fish with it? unless you're up north on lakes at least the size of mille lacs, I don't see the fifth wheel fish house being useful on smaller lakes. you won't have an easy time getting on and off alot of landings, and will go nowhere without plowed roads! plus the amount of ice needed would be pretty large considering the weight of the house, plus, likely a super duty truck pulling it out. look at what you want.... if you want to camp alot with it in the summer, I would go a different route. If you will use it mostly as an ice house on a very large lake and maybe camp a couple times in the summer, then it might work.
