I am heading out to Vail/Avon area for the week. Bringing a fly rod and flies I bought in the area last year during a visit. I fished Nottingham lake in Avon and the eagle river in the avon/Edwards area. Had limited success, any tips? what are conditions like currently?

I haven't spent any time in that area of town so I can't give any tips. It's been hot here in Colorado Springs/Denver the last week - 90's. We've had 4 forest fires start up this last week because of the dry conditions, heat, and lighting. It sounds like the Eagle River up there has been pretty good so far this year, looks like a fun river to try your hand at!
