MinnesotaMike
I completed the rebuild of the pontoon now I need to get the motor running. Before I started the rebuild the motor turned over but does not have spark. I took apart all of the wiring and completed the rebuild. Using diagrams from the net we reconnected the wiring, it turns over but still no spark. The guy I bought it from said it ran last year so I'm a little lost.I don't have the tools to test the stator or any other electrrical components,is there a simple way to test the stator or do I just nede to bring it in somewhere??Serial # oc117348 is on the motor.Thx, Mike
wastewaterguru
How many cylinders? What horsepower? How did you determine there is no spark?

MinnesotaMike
Got it running last night. Apparently rewiring the switch for the 16th time did the trick.Mike
Surface Tension
I manual will have the procedure to test the stator using an ohm meter. As far as wiring you should have the + & - cables to the battery and one plug so not sure why it needed to be rewired. I'll assume you have the QuickSilver controls. Look for the kill switch, its location might be hidden under the key and set it to ON.
