Sonic Hub install issue

3andadog

Question

Trying to install a sonic hub. The units power light will not come on. I have power at the plug, both the yellow and red are hot. I have not installed the NMEA 2000 kit yet - I was holding off thinking that if the unit is bad I'll send it back and move in another direction before buying that for another $70 and trying to return it too.

Does anyone know if the NMEA has to be plugged in and running to make the power on the unit light up?

Thanks

I called Lowrance today and the support person thought the unit was bad. After unplugging his unit the power light stayed on. He went through the options of sending a new unit and cost to overnight it. I asked him to unplug both the NMEA and the power source then plug the power source back in before I do that. No light.

Guess the NMEA needs to be plugged in and powered for the unit to even turn on.
