Da Biggin
So seeing as how lady winter won't loose her grip on Minnesnowta and there is still feet of ice out there is anyone still fishing the metro lakes? I've been driving north chasing tulibees but wanted to hit some closer ice and chase pannies. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't mind driving but Since I'm now in the east metro closer would be better than further... I'm not asking for anyone's honey hole (weird saying that in relation to ice fishing in april and mid-April at that!) I just want to know a couple lakes as viable options. I'm more than willing to take people with me if they would prefer not to share online. Nothing is better than meeting new people on the ice and sharing a frosty beverage! Any help is definately appreciated. Oh yea! PM is an option also.thanks to all you kind folks here!

dougger222
Been going out for the past couple weeks and plan to head over to Burnett County WI tomorrow. Been fishing near Mora and Rush City. One side of the lake may have 10ft of open water to the ice pack while the other side you can still run an atv from the shore.Been on 12 inches to 24 inches of ice in the past two weeks. The thinner ice was on the shallow spring fed cabin lake two weeks ago near Webster, WI.
clayton08
ive been fishing the river in the metro and fishing ice in west central mn. Crappies are on fire and 2 ft of ice last weekend the shore ice was really depleted but wheelers were the main way of transport.

dougger222
Did fair this morning 6:30-Noon a dozen sunnies 8.5-9.5 inches, the rest kept were 7.5-8 inches. The bite was WAY better yesterday morning though... Lots of 10-10.25 inchers yesterday morning in the blizard. The way things are going plan on hitting the ice the last day of the month! Asked my 75 year old avid ice fisherman friend if he's ever seen another Winter like this and he thought about it for a minute and said NO!
