Rattle reels

Anyone use these?

how do they work?
how do you reel the fish in with it with no crank ?

The Ratle wheel would be used as if you had a tip up in your fish house. Typically you would use a bobber but not a must. The idea is if you are busy doing other things such as jigging in another hole, cooking lunch, drinking beer, sleeping, the sound of the rattle will alert you to a bite. You then pull the line like you would a tip up. The Rattle is quite common in rental houses. A FM member once showed me an idea to put the rattle under a seat or bunk in a small house for an extra line. Hope this helps.
