LX6 Question

I picked up a lx6 a few weeks ago, tried it, wasn't real impressed, updated to the 3.17, tried again, now better but here is my question. The pictures on the box of the display show nice fine lines and great color. I like the red, green, yellow display but i cannot get anything to show up as red on the display not even bottom or fish with sensitivity maxed and the color on the display sucks, it looks faded and there is no way to get my jig to show as a fine line even with target id at 0. I have played with the backlight and that doesn't help. Is anyone able to get their lx6 display to look like it does on the box? I have a lx5 and love the display on that, great color, nice fine lines, and I thought this would be better yet but so far I am not impressed. May need to sell this and go back to the lx5 because every time I try it I am more disappointed.

I tried the 6 color option today and this is my scenario. Fishing gills 15 fow small jig sensitivity 4, target id 0, 20 ft manual range. Jig shows up blue bottom yellow fish coming in blue then lt greenish then yellow where are the other 3 colors and the colors overlap and are wide bands like a vx1pro not nice fine lines like a lx5 or like it shows on the box. Is this as good as it gets? I thought this would have a display like the lx5 or better not a step backwards.

Not sure how much finer do you want? Your looking a digital screen the the target ID marks are a single thin mark similar like the LX5. The resolution is affected by the GPU, so assume your looking for the smoothest looking line without jagged edges? You probably wont see that unless the graphics capability processor of the Marcum LX6,7 is able to incorporate features like anti-aliasing etc that can smooth out graphical display. I do know that the LX7 appears more brilliant in colors and smoother display lines then the LX6.

What screen displays are you running on the LX6? The vertical bar display should be pretty smooth and fine. The jagged lines are more apparent in zoom mode when using 5ft zoom but should still show you a single line target ID. Same for the flasher dial display screen.

As far as colors like I said its gonna vary depending on bottom and depths, structure. If you fire up the demo mode do you see reds, yellow, & green as well as the other colors? If you do then its probably working as should.

My target id marks are not fine lines like a lx5 and thats what I'm looking for. Same scenario as above lx5 jig and fish show up as about 1/8" line without sfl. Lx6 jig and fish show up as 3/16" - 3/8" color on top of color blobs. This is using the flasher dial display only, because I don't really care for the vertical display.

I may have a problem, I just turned it on to see if I have all the colors in the simulator mode because I thought the last time I only had yellow and the washed out green and the simulator mode does not work anymore. Flasher dial and vertical display completely blank no matter what you do. Yes the battery is charged 12.2 volts. I think I better call marcum tomorrow.
