Adding rod storage

Recommended Posts

I Have a 2004 crest liner sport fish 1850 ob. I am wondering if it is possible to add in floor rod storage between the windshield. Or anywhere really? Has anyone done this or heard of it being done thanks.

That's funny I have an '02 1850 sportfish and was just looking at doing the same thing. I did some measuring and don't think there's enough room in the bow. I hope someone has a good idea for you because I'll prob do it too.

Couldnt you rework the entire front deck and have the rod locker come back between the windshields? This is how the rod locker is on my Tournament Sport.

That would be a sizeable undertaking since you have to redo the entire front deck possibly, but since you cannot do something in the floor it would be an option. You would lose storage up front though from what you have now.

Mine actually had batter storage beneath the rod locker (beneath the main floor) as well. Pretty nice gets the weight distributed in the center of the boat and not everything in the rear.

Thought of that also but beyond my capabilities. Am thinking of putting a made box next to either sideof boat on the floor and get it carpeted to match.could be 7'2 " long and maybe get three or four rods hopefully four. The reels might need to be folded up on some of the bigger reels. Will see when I get time to work on it again.

i have had a lot of customers ask if we could add that to their boat like you are describing, when i talked with crestliner, they claim that they can not add those on due to the bracing support in the front, so crestliner does not have a kit for those years that you could add on.
