HNTNBUX
I have never hunted from a layout blind before but recently purchased two for a fall trip. Besides mudding the blind or using Krylon paint do you prepare grass bundles or just use vegetation from the field when you get there? PerchSlayer
Vegetation from the field you are hunting works best to blend in.
walleyeking19
You'll want to use vegetation from the field you're hunting in, that way you'll blend in the best with your surroundings. Just make sure you get there early enough to conceal yourself. Nothing is worth than running around while birds are flying overhead!

Seabass77
I reccomend the Krylon over the mud, the mud just gets dusty and over everything including the inside of your gun. I do use some of the avery kits on my blinds, I like to use them to cover up the areas that tend to lose vegatation like the area at the bottom of the blind above your feet. bassinboy3
Definately mud. I use vegetation from wherever your hunting, you will blend in soo much better. However the Ghille covers available from avery do a really good job on being close color matching surroundings. The wheat one doesnt work well in Minnesota fields however, its a little to light. mallardnwalleye
Always mud the heck out of the fabric below the bundles or the vegetation from the field or where ever. Krylon black dusting and a couple shadow slashes for depth work great too.I have some grass mats on my sit down blind that are mudded- kryloned that work well almost everywhere. otterman91105
I have been hunting with a lay down blind for quite a few years. I bought my father in law one last year and previous to that he used a goose chair and he was amazed on how well they work.
HNTNBUX
Thank you. Vegetation from the area it is. Now I have to learn how to shoot out of it.
otterman91105
It takes a little while to get use to. Good luck.
