Pike baitcaster reel

I am looking to upgrade a baitcaster reel for a heavy flippin rod I intend to use for pike fishing. It will be used for casting 1 - 2 ounce baits for pike. Mostly spinnerbaits and double bladed bucktails. I am thinking of the Shimano Curado 300 E. Does anyone have any other suggestions or an idea how this reel would work for pike? I am planning spending more for this reel.

The curado is a good choice. Staying with low profile casters, also look at wide spool equivalents in: Quantum Smoke, Quantum Exo, Abu Winch, and the recently relaunched Lew Childre line. I can't think of a Daiwa model off the top of my head, but they must exist.

You'll want a beefier reel on a flipping stick as much for balance as for line capacity. A 50lb. Braid is my choice for line.

I purchased a Curado 300E and really like the real. I also have a Curado 200.
