Web posting resolution Q's

Recommended Posts

When posting pictures on a web site most of them seem to have to be resized. Would you get better web pictures if you took them with a higher resolution setting before resizing or lower or don't it really matter? confused

I always try and take my shots at the highest resolution possible depending on the format I am shooting. When shooting high volume sports I may step down a notch or two from max in the interest of speed for processing. It is easier to downsize (if done correctly) than up-rez your shots. I always do my own re-sizing before posting on the web, many sites do a horrible job with compression to save bandwidth on their site.
