Guest
I have 2 of them, 1 with a regular barrel and 1 with a slug barrel, I didn't plan on 2 but the whole gun is about the same cost as any slug barrel. I have had nothing but good luck with both of them, teh shoot well, clean easily and are light. The best part is unlike my Browning I could give a rip if it gets scratched. take a look at a Rem 870 or a Moss 500, then look at the nova, in my opinion there is no contest the nove is a better gun for around the same money. JUST MY OPINION.
Dano2
I have read on other boards that alot of folks have had problems with them, I think the biggest was the jamming.never know though, you may but one and never have a problem, I have heard this same thing with Rem. 11-87, one guy has never had one problem and then theres others that say dont buy it. I think the major problem with that one is the O rings need replacing everyonce in a while, and I guess there not that sppendysorryfor ramnbling HEH! Bushwacker
Flash, One of my hunting partners just bought one last week and he loves it. We were all out shooting at his place three times last week and he had his first miss on a clay on Saturday. He went through three boxes of shells before he missed. Very nice gun and no jamming problems or anything at all. I can not believe that they sell them at that price. I bought a Browning Gold semi-auto last week and I now I am going to trade my backup gun on a Nova. I really like the weight and the feel of the Nova. Great gun for the money. marine_man
I've had one now for three years or so.. the first two years I ran 750 shells/yr (I shot in a skeet league) and this last year I've just used it for hunting and clays... and haven't had it jam once. I've got a friend who's got a Remington 870 Supermag.. which isn't a bad gun but low brass shells would always jam it. I don't have any complaints about my nova.. I was a little leary at first about buying what appeared to be a 'plastic' shotgun... but after owning it for a while I'm extremely happy with it.marine_man
Flash
Muskie Mania,I didn't know they had a slug barrel for these. Is it a rifled slug barrel.Flash
IceHawk
Another thumbs up for the nova, I have used my extensively for 3 years on waterfowl and pheasants, I haven't had it jam yet. I think it is a excellent shotgun with a reasonable price, plus it shoots 3 and 3 and a half inch shells.
Guest
Flash, yes it is, when I said it is cheaper to buy another gun than buy a slug barrel, I was mistaken, I went and looked and I could have saved $40.00 by buying just the barrel but what the hell for another 40 bucks I'll take the whole gun! Great deer hunting gun ! It does kick like a mule when shooting 3" slugs compared to a semi-auto but to be honest when I see a deer close enough to shoot at I dont really feel the recoil. Flash
What's the word on these guns? Are they a good gun? Seem to be priced pretty reasonable. Flash
WaveWacker
Are you planning on using it for mainly waterfowl hunting? If so it wouldn't be a bad choice. A buddy of mine has one. To me they are somewhat "clumbersome". Seems to shoot well though.
Flash
I will use it for Pheasants, Ducks & Geese. What do you mean by clumbersome? I held one and it seemed light and felt pretty good.Flash
