I then punched some holes in some 3x4 18 gauge tubing for handles and welded a nut into the hole i punched. All you have to do is spin the handle to raise the locking mechanism. My other thought was to use some stainless cable Gotcha. That's basically what I did. Threaded rod through the wheel well, with a nut on top that I tighten to raise the mechanism. IMHO, some of these houses get a little out of hand with the luxuries of home, which only complicates things and almost makes one forget why you have it in the first place: ice fishing.
