Try shooting clay pigeons always a good time. It is also good to get the rust out. Also try painting the decoys if they are getting bad, helps me when I am bored.

I have been pretty busy with school and baseball, but have still spent a lot of time thinking of the coming season. I have tried to watch a lot of ducks in different potholes and flooded areas over the past few weeks, and am planning on camo-ing my canoe and building a blind for it for this season. I would much rather see them drop the daily bird limit to 3 or 4 and keep the 60-day duck season-- at least then we can be out there hunting. I need to buy some more decoys, work on my calling, and shoot some clays before fall also. Fishing will become a priority in about a week though.......

Sartell said it right...

Practice calling. This is the time that you should be practicing if you want to get better. If you know you need to work on it, don't be like most hunters and put it off till the week before season! Nothing beats calling to live birds, as well as listening to live birds calling-- and imitating them. Maybe keep a call or two in your Canon case?!?!?!?!

Have fun...
