i hunted rice lake last year kinda late in season.( was the guy in the row boat but that changed for this year. that sucked one-just-like-silly-me)just wandering is it really good for goose hunting there on the opener and few days after that. i tried goose lake but that place really sucked for both ducks and geese. thanks

Which Rice are you referring to? There is one in Shakopee and there is another in Carver Cty? I'm familiar with both.

the one by Owantonna in steele county should of known to put that down theres like 100 rice lakes in mn.

I hunted rice lake a bit last year, it is a nice little pot hole. Especially back in the bay if you get there early enough. Only shot two geese there last year, I think you are better off trying the fields around there if you want flocks of geese. Besides, late in the year last year there were so many roboducks that it looked like a wind farm and I think that might spook the geese.
