Hawg
I'm on my way to get new cables for my house winches today. I change them every 2 years just to be safe. This should be regular maintenance for anyone in a state that uses salt on the roads I think. What are some of you talking about when you mention higher quality cables? Why don't people use straps like a boat trailer. Anyone ever use Dyneema rope/cable? They claim it's stronger than steel.
B-man715
I know some guys like to use stainless cable. It handles the salt better than the cheap galvanized stuff and isn't effected by the sun (uv rays) like synthetic materials (if stored outside). -hope this helps! FIRECAT
What size are the cables on the ice castles anyway?
rebel102285
I thought about using amsteel synthetic but I think that the memory steel cables get may be an advantage here. .. With a synthetic line I think it would want to jump out of the pulleys and would be a pain when trying to Jack the house back up. ... Just my thoughts
