Fly Style Reels

I have been eyeing up these new reels. First I'd like to say, the only fishing on ice where I get line twist is crappies in 40 ft and lakers in 60. Now, I don't chase crappies much since I stare down a spear hole most of the season. So, heres the question, are any of these reels heavy enough (or have line capacity for 10lb mono) to pull in a 10-20 lb laker?

I am not really interested in a 1:1 ratio, so I think that limits me to just a couple of brands. Any info would be appreciated.

Theoretically Any of the new Multipliers "should" handle it, based on specs alone. Unfortunately this is the first season most of us have seen them and they havent really been tested, I know the martin multiplier has been around for years but is a heavy reel. the Martin is what the frabil reel (241) is based off of with the short reel foot.

The Black Betty 6061 is supposed to be the cats meow, but again NOBODY has actually seen the final product, let alone played with the reel.

The eagle claw is a nice reel, with a nice price point trouble will be trying to find one. As well as durability, I think it would handle a full season or more of panfish. But to put it up against a laker of that size for a whole season, I for sure have my doubts that it will last.

Have you tried a Baitcaster?! I would never even consider a fly reel for lakers. I've used baitcasters the last few years and they work well... smooth drag and no line twist. Just make sure to use a round reel to avoid ice up issues with the line guide and use a reel with good anti-reverse because that always likes to act up in cold weather.
