The bite is excellent. Limits of walleyes being caught consistently on the Rainy River, 4 Mile Bay, in front of both gaps, Zippel Bay, Twin Islands, Stony Point, Knight and Bridges and the 9 Footer. Jigging with frozen shiners in 25 - 30' of water. Gold, orange, pink and chartreuse. Big jumbo perch mixed in with walleyes and saugers. Leaves are changing, birds are flying, a great time to fish. Water temps in low 50's.

Rainy River tournament held this past weekend with most teams bringing in limits, lots of nice fish caught. Small shiners are starting. Walleyes being caught consistently in river and 4 Mile Bay.

Up at the NW Angle. Walleyes being caught jigging by the boatload. Limits, some "100 fish days" and "4 fish on at a time" are common messages. Walleyes spreading out and being caught from 10' of water in back of bays to 40' on structure. Current and necked down areas a good place to start. Muskies in the 40 - 50" range common. Northerns, crappies and jumbo perch are consistent. More detailed info at www.fishingminnesota.com
