Guest
I have been doing a little research. I found a thing called ice scratchers. They are springs that scratch the ice and hard pack so you can keep your slides lubed and your liquid sleds running cooler. They send up quite a spray. There are 3 kinds. One kind attaches to your ski bolts, the other attaches to the bottom of your running boards and the third attaches to the slide rail. I have an Indy wide trac. All long tracks are hard on slides. I smoked a pair on Mille lacs last year. There are a lot of clips on that track to scrape the melted plastic off. Don't want to do that again. I ordered the running board style but they wont work on my machine because I have the under foot coolers. I found a place that sells the ski mounted ones. They were only $32. I am going to return the footrest mounted ones. If any one wants them they can have them for $40. Alot of mountain and performance sleds are using them because they can remove all the boogies to reduce weight. They are all desinged to be cliped up out of the way when you don't need them, want to back up or load on the trailer. I might just run both kinds on my sled.
