I want to build a skid house this year but I don't have any experience with a permanant house just portables here. If you were going to build one and fish many 2 people out of it what options would you include? Also what type of roof, sloped or flat?

I like the 6'x8' or so size for 2 guys ... I think you are on the right track there. Best advice is to keep it light, or at least weighted appropriate to the size machine you want to tow it with. If you build wood skids, then strongly consider adding a high density plastic skin on the bottom of them ... it will help the towing a great deal. If you are going to tow with a truck, then strength matters more than weight.

Sloped roof is only necessary if your structure can't support snow load and you won't be around it to clean it off when it snows ... or if you don't build it leak proof. Sloped is nice to give some more interior head roof too.

Have fun being creative ... few have built it to their satisfaction on their first attempt.
