Superior Wisonsin?

Hey guys-

I was wondering if you or if any of you know of someone who I can get in touch with about hunting around the Superior, WI area. No Specific Lakes,mostly about the St louis and "metro" area. I heard it's like WWIII with people lined up along the shoreline during the weekend, but I heard if you get out during the week, it's pretty quiet. I'm just curious about how far North you can hunt the river, the do's/don'ts and any other tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't seen people lined up along the shoreline like you describe. But what I have seen are people from both sides of the river (MN and WI) hunting the opposite side, whether they have licenses for that state or not. I've also seen people hunting as close as 30 yards from campgrounds, nature preserves, or homes along the river, essentially not caring what they're shooting next to as long as they can get a shot at passing birds.

This is not everyone, mind you. But there seem to be enough people like this that it gives the rest of us a bad image. Just my opinion.

Ej u can't hunt on the mn side so it wouldn't mattter what licenses they have. U need to look at a map that shows state lines to figure out which state the islands are on, some seem like they would be in mn but are in wi and vice versa. Shane anywhere on the wi side that isn't in city limits is legal as far as I am aware. A quick call to the co would give u the definite answer. I believe his name is John kroll and his number is Online but pm me if u can't find it. That area gets lots of pressure even during the week and there are A LOT of skybusters.

Shane, i cant help you with hunting the St. Louis River, but but have heard the same thing about WWIII on it. All tho i did do a lot of duck hunting in the Duluth area, and i had hunted Fish lake and Wild Rice lake. Both were great hunting and easy to hunt. i know it doesnt help with the St. Louis, But i thought i would give tho 2 as food for thought

Thanks everyone for the replies. It'll def. be a "feel'n it out" season as far as the St Louis/Spirit Lake area is concerned. I've heard people get very territorial around that area but if you put the scouting in on your own, it's first come come first serve as far as I'm concerned. I figured there would be ALOT of Sky busting which helps no one AT ALL!! Thanks again everyone and I hope your hunting/fishing season is going well!!
