Short trip to test My Tracks

Recommended Posts

Took a short trip up and down the river today with my son, also played with the My Tracks app for android phones, pretty slick how it tracks where you went - the elevation change it reports is completely wrong though, that's about as flat a river as you're going to find.

It was a very nice trip, the river was like a pond at dusk - very smooth, no current, we could have done with some sun but it was a nice relaxing trip. Much better than our last trip on this river in a different stretch where we got flipped, swamped, and lost some stuff to the river - fortunately no one was hurt.

Thanks! Stretches of the river do look a bit like MN, but it's deceptive. That river runs through a flat valley with about a 400' high ridge to the west and the foothills of the Cascade mountains on the east.

Follow that river downstream for about 40 miles or so and it ends up in Puget Sound.
