Lutsy: Not sure what your plans are, but I would certainly entertain the idea of another dog. I know its tough especially when the wound is still raw and bleeding. the last time we did this was 7 years ago. The intent was never to replace the dog who died, that cannot be done as each one is individual in and of itself. It does allow for some healing and knowing that you are providing a good home to another pet is great therapy. I wish you the best and hope your next fishing partner is a special addition.....

Deepest sympathies on your loss. I've been there a few times. May I suggest visiting a shelter when your ready. Too many deserving animals are just waiting to touch someones heart. Just giving one a chance at a good life and home is the finest way to honor Shrimpo. They can never take her place, but can fill her space. Take care.
