Mount electric wnch to Shorelander trailer

bearberg

Question

I am considering mounting an electric winch on my boat trailer. As I look at the present winch housing it appears to be a monster of a project. Any insight and advice would be appreciated. Have the Dutton Larson winch to mount.

Sounds like your in the same position I was in earlier this year.

There is the Shoreland'r route and then there is the "other" option. Shoreland'r sells a straight post that replaces your current post/winch that is straight with a flat bracket on top to mount the winch. I went with the other option keeping the existing winch in place as a back up. The electric winch mounted right on top of the Shoreland't winch. I then added a second boat eye above the original one to hook the new strap to. Wired the power into my 7-pin plug and all is good.

I hope this helps. I had my done at our locate boat dealer in Hutchinson.
