squeedunk
I just bought a depth raider and used it yesterday but it wouldn't run straight at any speed above a slow troll. What can I do to fix it, or are they a slow troll type of lure? I have turned the eye on other crankbaits to fix the problem but it looked like the depth raider eye is just molded into the plastic lip so I didn't try it. Can I file down one side of the lip or anything like that? Thanks for any help,Squeedunk
Fish-n-Freak
You can try bending the eye, just grab it with pliers and go slow. Shaving down one side of the lip would help some too. Otherwise I do keep a few cranks and jerks that run hard right or left. They are great for fishing along a rock wall or weedbed. ;-)It might be perfect just like it is. RuKiddingMe
I'm pretty sure most of Buchers baits, be it the Top Raider, Shallow Raider or the Depth Raider have counter weights inside the bait to keep it running true. If the counter became loose the bait will have all kinds of problems. I bought a top raider this happen to and sent it back to Bucher baits for a replacement. They were really good about it. From what I understand there is a new company manufacturing the baits now, so thing maybe a little different, I was able to contact them off their HSOforum.RU
