muskylureguyneedsmusky
I fish Lake Owasso quite often for muskies but havent seen much of anything this year there. I know the lake has the big monsters in there but haven't found them. Anyone fished there this year and have some luck? Some tips or "hot spots" would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. RuKiddingMe
How is the water on Owasso right now? I was thinking about heading out there this evening for a couple hours. I haven't fished it in a few summers... Also do you think there would be any place to park if i got to the launch about 6:30 or so?RU
RuKiddingMe
Well I hit Owasso this evening with my Puppy Black Lab, boy I'll tell ya that is a task in it's self. Anyway, I was pretty suprised at the lack of weeds around the lake. I did find a little cabbage patch in the middle of the lake in between the point just west of the launch and the oppisite shore line. I hooked up with a nice mid 40" fish and lost it boat side while reaaching for the net... I thought for sure I was going to get the monkey off my back and FINALLY put one in the boat. Maybe next time.RU
muskylureguyneedsmusky
The water is pretty warm and a little green. Used to be a lot more greener a few weeks ago. I bet you will be able to find a spot to park. Most boats leave around dinner time and it is a weekday. Anyways good luck to you out there. Try workin the ski jump, lily pads, and the point just to the right of the boat landing. I've only seen a few fish in that lake this year but thats where theyve been. Good luck to you, let me know how you did.
muskylureguyneedsmusky
RU, keep workin, ull get the monkey off, i gotta tell my self the same. way to go on the 40 incher, even though it didnt want to go in the boat, i bet it was still exciting and that also gives me some more hope on that lake. The point off the west is a good spot and your completely right about the lack off weeds. I think the cold weather in june didnt help plus the weed spraying by the DNR. Once they come in though that lake should be a good cities muskie lake, especially in the fall. Good luck fishin
