Rain, Rain, Rain

Wow, out in Saint Michael we have already received over 4" of rain with another 3" expected. I remember last year when this happened water levels went up around a foot. Some areas are supposed to receive a total of 8 - 9" by the end of the day. This should put another one foot plus into Tonka. This will definately change my strategy as I will be in the very back part of the bays. Last year this strategy paid off but oddly enough the feeder creeks didn't produce like I thought they would. I wonder how this affects bass that have just spawned as their nests now have an extra foot of water above them??

I would assume not good for those lil eggs trying to hatch.

Lots of rain, for me, usually means go fish at water drainage pipes, especially where there’s a lot of flow coming out of it. You’ll usually find a huge school of bass there. If it’s a rainy day this Saturday, I might just leave my boat parked and head on over to my two favorite drainage pipes. I’m thinking I’ll catch over 20 bass at both spots, not even kidding.
