Hello guys,

I'm new in Fargo ND area and I would like to catch some bass here in the US (I'm french). I do not want your best spot but just a place where I should be able to catch a bass from the shore using plastic bait...

You can contact me by PM if you prefer. Thank you for your help.

(I do catch and release for any fish, all species and all size.)

From shore, you'd have a hard time doing better than the Ottertail River at Orwell Dam in Fergus Falls. Good smallmouths, catch and release only special regulations, plus you'll catch all kinds of other stuff too from walleyes to pike to catfish to who knows what else. You set the hook, it's anyone's guess what it will be. If the water's not too high you can wade some areas of the Ottertail as well and cover a little more ground.

Post a question about it in the Red River forum, and you'll get some good info on what the river level is like.
