One of the first times out with my current boat. I motored across a small lake to a spot I wanted to start casting for bass. I went to the bow to lower the trolling motor. It's so far been giving me fits and very hard to release and pivot down (gen 1 PD unit) I'm leaning over the bow trying to deploy the thing, pushing, pulling, cursing and can't get the latch to release. As I'm doing this the boat is drifting across the lake. Finally, I get it to move and it lets go all at once. I lose my balance and I'm going head first over the rail. I fall out of the boat, AND miss the lake. The boat drifted far enough into the shallows that when I fell I landed on shore. I quickly jump to my feet and take look around to see if anyone is looking before pushing the boat back in.

One night a few years back one of my buddies wanted to show a couple of us his brand new boat. It was an open bow Larson of some sort with an IB/OB. We're floating out on LOW and the beers are going down and one of the guys (not the boat owner) has to take a leak. He goes out back on the swim platform while the boat is running but just drifting. The boat owner is sitting in the captains chair and tells me to watch this. He hits the neutral button and really revs the motor. The dude out back leans back towards the boat figuring he was going in the drink, when the boat didn't move he falls flat on his back in the bottom of the boat. Me and the other guy are laughing pretty hard until the boat owner realizes the joke is on him as apparently the guy didn't stop peeing when he fell into the boat!
