3 bank charger interference

sheephead2

Question

HI

I have a

788CI HD DI COMBO

A terrova 80lb built in sonar

Minn Kota 315 charger

Depth finder is turned on

with trolling motor on depth finder screen is a cluttered

lower down sensitivity still same.

Next turn trolling motor off and depth finder screen is clear and you are able to see depth...

So I disconnect the 3 bank charger lead to the starting battery and Turn on trolling motor and depth finder everything works fine.

Bottom line when every battery is hook up to charger I get interference to depth finder when trolling motor is on

So I called Minn Kota the lady told me that there chargers don't do that that is why everybody buys there brand . I told her mine does it. She talks to her supervisor and told me it has happened a few times they exchanged the chargers and still had problems. Then told me to disconnect the battery lead when I want to use the depth finder. I told that is not why I purchased a 3 bank charger for....

WHAT SHOULD I DO

I had a different model hummingbird getting clutter when I turned on my trolling motor. Called humminbird customer service and they sent me a new power cord with what they called a "choke" built in and that solved the problem 100%. Very impressed with HB's customer service.

Hope this helps with your situation.
