I love useing spinnerbaits also. For big pike I would have to go with a Jig or lindy with a medium sucker. Fishing for walleye on ottertail with suckers I have caught over 10 fish that pushed the scales past 12 pounds. After saying all this my biggest ever a 42 inch 20 pound girl came from colorado on bekerly power bait for trout. Go figure.

I have a rookie question regarding using spinner baits for pike and ski. Do you guys use a wire leader with them or just tie you line directly to them? I have never really used them for anything other than bass and never used a leader and was wondering what most of you did. Thanks for the tip. Will be fishing Rainy in June so I am hoping to catch some pigs.

tim yes we do use plastics once in a while. we have gone to plastics that are used for salt water, and some from the muskie section. so far we haven't caught anything big, but they do and will work. del

If you want to keep your lures, use a leader. They are toothy critters and can cut off your line before you know it!
