Rod building questions ???

I'm a complete novice !! I've never done one, where do i start lol...should i get a kit or just kinda go along, i know from experience in other endeavor's that it pays to get some advice instead of spend tons of dollars to find out a year later that i did it all wrong lol...thanks guys

I was in your boat a few months ago, not really sure where to start. I decided to take a beginners class. The one I took (along with a few others on this site) was from a guy named Gary Wicks, Great guy and teaches you everyhting you nmeed to know from a beginning point of view. Search Garys Rod N Reel on Google he will pop up, I think he has a schedule on there of upcoming classes.

Also I think Thorne Bros does a few classes, you'll have to look on their HSOforum. The class will basically teach you the process and the basic tools you'll need, from there you can decide what tools you want to spend your money on.

Rod building is all preference...and as most of us know very addicting have fun and be creative good luck!
