live4chrome Posted April 11, 2012 Share Posted April 11, 2012 I have a 50 horsepower yamaha 2 cycle that is leaking oil out to through the prop. I bought the replacement gasket I was wondering how to replace them. . does anyone have any experience with this repair I don't know if I have to take the lower unit off i hope not. boatfixer Posted April 11, 2012 Share Posted April 11, 2012 You can replace propshaft seals without removing the entire lower unit. You will need to remove the prop and the bearing carrier.
