Shane Z
I'm pretty surprised of the number of waterfowlers out in the Twin Ports area (others that I've met or seen hunting) ....I grew up on the Iron Range and was one of the first ones to start field hunting for honkers ( over fullbody decoys)...Its become HUGE in the areas I used to hunt and I've practically been pushed out of my old stomping grounds. Anyways enough with that rant...I'm just happy to see others shooting in layout blinds, using short reeds and decoying them in....AWESOME For quite some time now I've been meaning to do a waterfowl seminar within the Duluth area but have yet to find enough people who are actually interested in creating such an event. I'm sure if we can get a large enough crowd...the Gander Mountain in Hermantown may consider competition calling.( which is a whole different ball game in itself). This is not to a post about where other people hunt (unless they truly do choose to share). We have a great resource as far as practicing goose/duck calling with live geese and ducks around all year round. I'm not only creating this post to have all the Twin ports people come together, but to help spread the knowledge of waterfowl hunting tactics in the field such as North and South Dakota, Canada, ect. Looking forward to reading other posts and get the ball rolling!! Here's a few pictures to get the itch before the MN 2012 season starts
