BartmanMN
My boat currently has a transducer and speed indicator wheel mounted directly to the boat. I plan on removing those, installing a Transducer mounting plate, and then mounting my new down scan Humminbird transducer to it.My question is, should I just fill the previous holes with 3M Marine grade silicone or do I need to put some type of plug in the hole and silicone over it?I am hoping that I can silicone the holes, let that cure, then put a bead of silicone around the entire transducer plate before installing it, which should mount over the existing holes (I hope).Am I missing anything or should this be fine?
