mrpike1973
hi looking for a small moter. are the coleman moter line or the briggs 5 hp moters any good. the boat i have is a small 12 footer very shallow rated for 15hp but i think a smaller moter would be ok thanks for the help anyone know who makes the coleman moters
norma
Tohatsu makes the Coleman outboards. Briggs are air cooled motors, a lot louder and do not have as long of service life as liquid cooled. 5 hp is plenty for a 12 footer.
marine_man
Any reason you're not looking at the "normal" brands in that small of HP? marine_man
mrpike1973
marine man i just bought a 6 hp evinrude. the reason i was looking at one of these was i thought for the price i would get a better deal after thinking about it. there is very few marine places that wont fix a evinrude i doubt i could get a briggs or coleman parts fast and i would rather tell the "guys" i got a "rude" on the back not a coleman lantern or lawn mower motor thanks for the help
