UMC
Not a boat question but a "motor" question I guess...I have an ice auger that I haven't used in a good 5 years. I got it running this morning on just a couple pulls after changing the spark plug and it seemed to run fine but I'm wondering if I should maybe run some sort of additive through it to clean up the fuel lines. Any suggestions?
jentz
If its running fine Why? May run somme Stabil mixed fuel through it,Seasons over and the Stabil will help for first start next year.Dont run it dry the diaphrams can dry out and crack. marine_man
Some sort of fuel stabilizer wouldn't hurt, but won't clean deposits. You could also try some sea foam... it's not the same as actually cleaning the carb, but it can help..marine_man
res241a
One more good piece of advice for you that I got. In all of my small engines, auger, lawn mower, snowblower ect...I run non-oxy fuel in them. It's my understanding that regular unleaded gas can be tough on fuel lines ect when they sit fir a long time. The non-oxy is a few cents more at the pump, but I think worth it.
