Muskie-searcher
I am looking to find some muskies and big pike in the Duluth area and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction. I hear the St. Louis River is good, but it is a big body of water and I have no clue where to fish it. If someone could give me some information either on the river or on another area body of water I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot for any help. Steve Foss
Muskie-Searcher:The muskie guys on the St. Louis are pretty tight-lipped.First step is to get a map. Look for weedlines and points, near deep water, that offer some break from current. Also, there are tons of inlets and bays on the Wisconsin side, some with water around 20 feet deep but coming up shallow, with murky bog-stained water from the Pokegama River, and lots of weed and wood.I'd also buy some muskie tackle at Fisherman's Corner and Marine General in Duluth, and the Bait Box in Superior, and ask them generally where to hunt muskies in the river. You should get a few bites from them . . . Good luck. ------------------"Worry less, fish more."Steve Foss[email protected]
Muskie-searcher
Thanks a lot for the information. I am going out casting tomorrow. Hopefully I will find a big pig cruising the weedlines.
