New Morrum

Looks like someone finally came up with a high speed quality reel. I was going to go with one of the saltwater big-wigs. I love my Morrum. I have a Calcutta, but prefer the Morrum---Man I can't wait for that first follow!!! -NS-

only 123 day to go till open water muskies. thats a third of a year, i cant wait that long, ill go nuts.

I hear ya DUCK, i'm dying here, i wish i could snap my fingers right now and be at the cabin on the first weekend in June... I need some open water...

there are a couple of things i do to scratch that itch. march we head up to lotw and fish for pig northerns on the ice (but it dose help). th in april we go down to iowa and fish a musky tourny there. its only 3 days but what a blast. by then its only 1 1/2 months to go. this is the time i spend sharening hooks and relining all my reels.

DUCKJ, fishing the pig northerns on LOTW would be blast, go you go out of Minnesota or Canada? That is something i might have to look in to. Heading in to Iowa for some early fishing sound do-able also.

I'm with you on those Morrums. I have Morrum SX1601 and 3601's I just love, spendy though. I wish ABU made lefthanded versions of the larger sized Morrums, left handed versions of their new linecounter reels would be nice also.

RU, we drive out on to the lake out of warroad mn. drag a trailer to stay in on the ice or get a hotel room. i tell ya, it is a awsome time and you get fish 15 to 20 lbs all the time with fish over 20 as well. if you go, look for groops of houses and set up close but off on your own so you can spred out. you only have to drive out a few blocks to catck fish.

Oh sure, those Morrums are great. And I test-drove a Corvette once. Couldn't afford it, but it made my blood pump.

Nope, you guys with $ can keep your Morrums, I'll take the 5500 and 6500 in the C series. Proven design, economical, and I'll still hand it off to my children.

Have to agree with Stfcatfish.
Hard to beat the Abu C3 or C4.
Tuff, tuff, tuff.
Easy to clean and fix in the rare ocassion something fails.
Well made, light and easy to use.
Simply two of the very best.

NO doubt I will own a Morrum, but the C series is a winner.
