Well guys, tomorrow I leave for Canada for my first week fishing on Lake of the Woods. FINALLY! Iv'e stocked up on spinners and crankbaits, and hope to get some bucktails at Cabelas in Minnesota. Any early season suggestions for presentation, trolling speed, or location? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

If you're in the Canada islands part of LOTW you'll probably see plenty of fishy looking spots to cast to. LOTW is filled with great muskie/northern haunts you would not need to troll. Incidentally, check out a mudpuppy or other surface plug with a rotating (plop-plop-plop) tail. They can give you great fun and great fish. Cabela's has a good selection of muskie and pike lures. Good luck.
