I was reading a couple posts on how to do a screen capture so I tried it myself. It seems that different phones running the Android OS do this differently but here is how it works on a Galaxy S (verizon) running 2.3.5. I did the new Navionics app for the test.

1. Press and hold the "back" button (you get a message to turn off Navionics, press "cancel" to get rig of the dialog box).

2. Tap the power button. The display will blink and you get a message "Screen captured. Saved as image file."

The screen capture is now in the gallery.
