replacements are 25 or I can send in the old ones but then again its only $20 plus sending the blades and the shipping so it adds up again to $25 or maybe even more. Im not understanding the blade exchange service with strikemaster. I have the mora blue hand auger. shuld I just go get replacements at a local baitshop for $25?

the blade exchange at strikemaster and the baitshops that work with strikemaster is set up that you give them your old blades and they give you a new set of blades. the blades they give you are brand new blades the reason they sell them cheaper is because they don't have the expense of the retail clam packs they get put in. they come in a brown padded envelope. they then take all the old blades and recycle them with a scrap metal dealer. this is how they make up some of the money. remember even a blue mora auger is like $50.00 new and in the long run it is cheaper to replace the blades then to have a bunch of auger sitting around with bad blades. one place you could check with is H&H sports shop in Maple Lake. they buy so much volume from strike master each year that they can offer some better prices on the same stuff then you can get right at strikemaster directly.

grinded the blades with the handgrinder and went back out just an hour ago by shore to see if it improved which it did but only by little it starts to bite and cut but then slips a little and cuts then cuts like before. only every so turns it will cut and you can feel a positive cut them goes back to feeling like its just barley cutting and just shaving ice, will just have to replace the blades for $25 as I plan to head north for crappies... any tips on what I should bring? all I have are a few ice jigs and summer crappie jigs plus various size hooks sinkers berkley waxxies, should I pick up some live waxxies and minnows? how far out and were should I try to find crappies?

why head north. jump on Hwy 10 and stop at Strikemaster in Big Lake and then go over and check out some of the wirght county lakes for crappies. I have heard some lakes are putting fish out now.

the blade exchange you still have to pay $20 though right? plus sending them the old ones and paying for shipping and handling so in all its like buying new blades

the blades they send you are brand new blades. they are NOT resharpened blades. the guy I talked to at strikemaster when I switched my blade with them said that the old ones are not worth sharpening so they give you brand new blades and recycle your old ones for scrap. they offer them cheaper then the "New" blades because the ones they send you come to you in a brown padded envelope and not the retail clam pack. by doing this it saves them money and they pass that saving to you. if you buy the same set of blades in a clam pack you will be paying a extra $5 to $10 for the fancier packaging. the shipping is where they get you. if you can ever get to big lake they will do the exchange right there and then you save because there is no shipping then.

VADOS bait shop replaced my blades with old ones RE-SHARPENED from strikemaster he said they no longer do resharpens they just have new blades but at the price you pay he said its close to buying a new strikemaster mora on sale so why bother good news is since they are resharpens I got them for only $16 saved myself $10 he noted that strikemaster has a sharpener jig to bring back the edges on old blades as he can tell I was giving him hints on my distrust on resharpened blades, so my old blades went in the brown envelope and I would guess he does the exchange with them, in all Im happy and ready to hit the ice, new blades are razor sharp!

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
