Ninja Ice Gloves

Anybody ever used these? I found them while trolling Am@zon the other day. For around $8 a pair I had to order a couple sets and try them out. Examining them they seem like really high quality, with a woven nylon exterior, a warm fleece interior, and a grippy flexible textured rubber coating on the palm and fingers. The ads claim they stay flexible down to like -50F. They're a more tight fitting glove than most winter gloves but still able to slip on and off easily.

I got a chance to use them today for a couple hours and was really impressed. While hiking the 1/4 mile or so to the lake dragging the gear behind my hands stayed very warm but didn't get all sweaty or clammy like my old Ice Armor gloves did since they are able to breath out of the back side of the hand. Drilled a few holes and they didn't slip on the auger at all, never got in the way when turning the choke or switch on/off, and never felt like I had lobster claws for hands like the gloves those guys wear on Deadliest Catch. While fishing they were obviously too bulky for baiting a panfish jig, but they should work great for any bait larger than the tiny crappie minnows. Holding my St. Croix Legend spring bobber rod was very easy and they never got caught on the line or in the way of the bail. They also didn't get in the way of feeling a bite. And being able to adjust the drag even while fighting a fish was a big plus.

I unhooked a dozen or so small sunnies and only needed to take a glove off once because the hook was in a weird position, but otherwise I was able to easily hold on to the fish and grab the tiny Fiska tungsten jig I had tied on, and my hands never got wet or cold the entire time I was out. They won't work well if you intend to submerge them since being are not fully rubber coated, but the normal grabbing of fish and bait suit these gloves perfectly.

Here is what they look like...

You can see how the rubber coating is on the finger tips.

While putting this review together I noticed they also make the rubber coating over the full fingers...

I may order a pair of these just to see how much stiffer the fingers are for that little bit extra protection from water. But for now I am happy and will be sticking with the ones I have.

Here's a couple of my own pictures

Having only used them once and not under the most extreme of conditions, I can't say much for the durability. But after gripping a rope while dragging the gear behind they show no signs of wear on the rubber coating. And for $8 I won't lose any sleep over it if they did only last me a season.

Check 'em out!!
