foulpole18
While starting my atv tonight I pushed the primer in and it was hard to push compared to normal. It went in 1 time and didn't come back out. It finally started and the primer still seems stuck.Could it be something as easy as a broken spring or am I likely to find something more? If it is a broken spring is it as easy as it looks to replace? Thanks in advance,Brian
Macgyver55
Has it been a long time since you have used the primer? If so, my first guess would be that its possible there was moisture in the primer bore that it is corroded and sticking.I've never run into a broken spring but that doesn't mean its not possible though. I'd suggest turning off the fuel shut off and removing it for inspection. And yes its pretty simple to remove, a couple of screws I believe. foulpole18
Its probably been a month since I used the primer. How much gas do you think I'll get out of it when I pull it to inspect?
Macgyver55
Less than a cup I'd guess. It would be a good idea to have a small pan ready to catch it.
foulpole18
Thanks Macgyver, I'll check it out tonight or tomorrow hopefully and report back.
foulpole18
Thanks again macgyver for the help. Got it apart and just had to clean it up a little and it works like a dream now. Sure wish I had a lot smaller hands to get at those screws. What a pain.
