Hi-fax for sled

Does any body know a cheaper solution to hi-fax for older eskimo quick flip 3. I dont want to buy the kit untill I buy a new house in a couple more seasons

I bought some 1x4 "plastic" trim at a big box store and used a heat gun to bend it and then bolted them on. It works OK at best, stay off anything but snow/ice as it wears very quickly on asphalt. For what it's worth if I was to do it again I would honestly buy the hy-fax.

I did think of putting that hard vinyl garage buck on there but I dont want to replace it after half of dozen trips. thanks though, I might just have to buy the kit.

I put old ski's on my frabill trekker untill I buy a new house in a few years that is way cheaper from a thrift store

I put down hill skis on an old house of mine. Did you use XC Skis? I thought those might keep the weight down.

I use hyfax from my snowmobile, U can buy it at anysnowmobile dealer, in different lenghts, aftermarket hyfax is cheaper than the original OEM hyfax, just bolt it to bottom and go

Hyfax is made from UHMW plastic. I looked online for 1" x 1/2" UHMW strips and found that it's not much cheaper than any of the retail kits. If you know of someone that could have a sheet that could be cut to length or width you could make your own.
