SD Pheasant hunt

I did my annual SD Pheasant hunt. We always go out and hunt the day after Thanksgiving for 3-5 days. This year was not different. Met my brother, dad and uncle out there. Met up with some local friends which are the best. They basically drop everything they are doing and take us around and hunt with us. We saw lots of birds, but as usual missed more than we bagged. At the end of three days we had 20 roosters, 2 fox, 1 coyote and 2 very tired beat up dogs. My Chocolate lab got his first taste of SD hunting and he did incredible..still working on him retrieving but he found almost all of them and had two really nice run downs. We had to cut the trip to 4 days as my lab (14 months old) did not understand barb wire and has some pretty big cuts...Vet says they will heal but he has to wear the "cone of shame" for the next few days.......cannot wait to go back out at the end of Dec and do some local hunting around MN.....good luck to all
