Sounds like your worried about Resin Degredation. Do a little research about the various resins used.

My canoe with 5 yrs of outfitter use and two yrs of my use has moderate UV damage but it disappeared when I refinished it. Some outfitters store indoors, I think this is more important that just summer exposure as winter adds months of UV.

Deals get better as winter goes, I paid under $1k. We use the canoe every week in the summer.

I'll keep my eyes open. The place I was hoping to buy from said it's sales end after Xmas, so I don't expect I'll be looking there any longer. I will keep looking at other places, though, as it seems like there might be some great deals to be had out there.

Thanks for the info, teamfish. I expect to be calling them in the next week or three to see what they've got in selection. I might even head up there to see what they have...gives me a good excuse to (hopefully) do some snowshoeing (if there's some). : )
